WELCOME TO WESTERN STATES LOWLINE ASSOCIATION ——————————————————————————–

WESTERN STATES GRASS-FED PERFORMANCE BULL TEST

The Western States Grass-fed Performance Bull Test is the first of its kind for the Lowline breed. The test will be held in Ft. Lupton CO. at Walters Land & Cattle. The Moderator and Fullblood Bulls on the test will be turned out on improved pasture including cover crops and small grains. Bulls will also be supplemented with a grass fed ration including native and alfalfa hay. The bull test is sponsored by W.S.LA. but is open to all breeders who are interested. The bulls ages are from Jan 1st thru April 30th 2016. Fall bulls are also eligible but will be calculated separately. The information collected will be ADG, WDA, Ultrasound Data and a bull soundness evaluation. W.S.L.A has put up $2000 prize money for the top bulls in each category.

Bulls can start arriving after Oct. 15th with the test starting in early November. There is some pickup from central locations available for a small fee. One is at the NILE show in Billings MT on Oct 22nd. For more information, call David Shockey or Brian Walters.
